Pucca is an Asian animation with a difference. First of all, it’s about a little girl that can best a top ninja even on a bad day. This ninja, Garu, tries to get away from her every time, because he want to avoid getting kissed! And that is what the stories are based on: Pucca chases Garu to kiss him and ends up saving him along the way. It’s a great theme for a little girl that is just a teensy bit naughty and like to take things into her own hands – just like Pucca.
Pucca invitations are now sold internationally and can be ordered over the internet. You may not find one that you like, so you could download some images from Pucca’s website or from Disney, where Pucca is shown outside of Korea.
The color scheme here will always be red, black, and white. These graphic hues will help show off the characters nicely. Pucca anime is all rounded, so choose those fat red balloons to decorate and change the strings to black ribbons. “Plant” the balloons in pots topped up with ferns. Suspend round paper lanterns in white, black, and red across the room. Intersperse red, white, and black crepe flaglets between the lanterns.
The children’s table will have a lively look when set with a red tablecloth and topped off with black and white table scarves. Use red plates for each child, with utensils in black. A red napkin can be rolled up on the plate, cinched with a black tassel. Pucca is always represented by a heart, so why not have a red balloon heart as your centerpiece? Make ribbon picks using red, black, and white ribbons tied into bows and set them into a round red vase. Decorate the vase with a floppy black bow.
Throw a red tablecloth and a black table scarf onto the table that will hold the birthday cake. Lift the cake up a bit and fill in the space with the ribbon bows. Put red cake plates on the side with black plastic forks.
Pucca is Korean, so it would make sense that the most popular food on the show is ramyun or noodle soup. Why not introduce a mild version to the children in small bowls? Besides the ramyun, the guests would enjoy little portions of fish fingers served with a sweet chili sauce, vegetable sticks with hummus, and little sesame cookies served with a berry sherbet. A fruity iced tea is a common beverage with any meal.
Let the Pucca birthday cake stand out by covering a round cake with white fondant and sticking on various sized circles in red and black fondant. Top with a Pucca figurine and accent it with a bunch of heart balloons made from dried red royal icing piped onto a piece of floral wire.
Let the favors represent Pucca with red marshmallow hearts and red and white gummy bears. Stuff them in embroidered silk gift bags and add a red fan to that.
