Who would have ever thought that washcloths could be given as souvenirs in the most unforgettable way? An imaginative way to give a washcloth as a souvenir or as a gift is by folding it in such a way that it would look like a bouquet. The only downside to this type of gift is that it can be so attractive and unique that the receiver will never fold it out of the washcloth bouquet design it was given as.
A bouquet usually pertains to flowers arranged into an attractive bunch. These can then be used for occasions like a wedding. If the party is a baby shower, coming up with a washcloth bouquet can be a pleasant surprise.
Get hold of several small washcloths of varying pastel colors. Carefully fold each into a half diagonal. The corner where the tag is found, roll up loosely till the tag forms the center of a rosette. When about three inches are left, fold it under then continue rolling till the end, this will form a bit of a ridge. Fold up the uneven end with the rolled edge. Open it then roll it over, sort of like a reverse roll. Secure the rosette by folding the edges over, making the ‘petals’ fluff out.
Continue making several and when the desired number is reached, carefully bind them together with some floral wire. Attach some artificial leaves to form a neat edge surrounding the bouquet. This can either be pierced in the center with a dowel or a pencil which can later be wrapped by a green or white colored washcloth.
You can always arrange a few bunches into a vase and arrange it so it becomes a centerpiece on a buffet table. A large centerpiece needs about 20 bouquets to make it stand out, while one washcloth bouquet can be a centerpiece for the smaller tables.
It would also be nice to present these to the mother to be who can never have enough washcloths once the baby comes.
Smaller bouquets can be given to the guests as their souvenirs. Simply lay cellophane flat and at the center place the gifts. Take the edges of the cellophane together to form a bag and secure it around the base of the bouquet with a floral wire. This should be done tightly so that nothing escapes the gift. Once fully secure, wrap a gaily colored ribbon several times on around the securing floral wire and tie off with a bow.
Using different colored washcloths to make rosettes will surely be an unforgettable bouquet to behold.
Anyone would be proud to receive a washcloth bouquet for not only does it look pretty and distinctive, but the number of small washcloths to make up a bouquet is enough to stock a bathroom counter.
Give the bouquets as souvenirs, gift offerings, prices for party games, or simply as a gift for the expectant mother.
